How do I turn it on?

Add three AA batteries (sold separately) and flip the switch. The colors start changing on their own, so there's nothing else to set.

Is it suitable for kids?

It works well in kids' rooms and sensory spaces with a grown-up nearby. The fibers are thin and can bend or break if they're pulled, so it's better for watching than handling, and spare batteries should stay out of reach.

How do I look after it?

Keep it away from heat and in normal room temperatures (the maker suggests about 14 to 86°F), handle the strands gently, and take the batteries out if you're storing it for a while so they don't leak and corrode the contacts.
